Bell-View’s Taste the Fruit 1st Preserves is perfect for your morning toast but did you know that it could also be used for baking? We’ve adapted this recipe to make a decadent dessert that’s dangerous to keep around your house for too long! It’s sure to satisfy your sugar cravings!

For this recipe we used our No Sugar Added Organic Apple Butter!

Ingredients:

  • 1 stick of butter, room temperature

  • ¾ cup Bell-View’s No Sugar Added Organic Apple Butter

  •  2 cups granulated sugar

  •  1 large egg

  •  1 tsp. vanilla extract

  •  2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour

  •  1/2 tsp. cream of tartar

  •  1/2 tsp. baking soda

  • 1 pinch of salt

  •  1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon

  • ½ tsp. pumpkin spice

Cinnamon Sugar:

  •  1/4 cup granulated sugar

  •  1 tbsp. ground cinnamon

  • ½ tsp. pumpkin spice 

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, mix the butter, apple butter, and sugar together until incorporated, but not light and fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla. Mix until combined.

  2. In a separate bowl, combine all of the dry ingredients. Add dry ingredients to wet and mix until well combined. 

  3. Refrigerate dough for 2 hours. 

  4. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease the baking sheets.

  5. Mix cinnamon and sugar together in a bowl for coating. Roll dough balls (one inch) and roll in cinnamon-sugar until fully coated. Place the coated dough balls on a greased baking sheet several inches apart.

  6. Bake at 350˚F for 17 minutes, until the cookies have spread.

  7. Let cool for 10 minutes. Store in an airtight container.
