Dutch Apple Crisp

This recipe features our Taste the Fruit 1st Dutch Apple Pie Preserves!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 6 large apples, thinly sliced

  • ⅓ cup packed brown sugar

  • 2 tbsp. cornstarch

  • 2 tsp. cinnamon

  • ¼ tsp. nutmeg

  • 1 pinch of salt

Topping:

  • 11/2 cup old-fashioned oats 

  • ½ cup flour

  • ¼ cup packed brown sugar

  • ½ tsp. cinnamon

  • 1 pinch of salt

  • 1 stick of melted butter

  • ¾ jar of Taste the Fruit 1st Dutch Apple Pie Preserves 

RECIPE:

  1. Add the apple slices, lemon juice, brown sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt. Stir to combine well. Spread the apples out in an even layer.

  2. To make the topping, stir the dry ingredients together in a medium bowl. Pour in the melted butter and stir until all the ingredients are coated and the mixture is wet and crumbly. Sprinkle the topping evenly over the apples. Melt down the preserves and pour over top of the mixture.

  3. Cook on high for 3 hours or on low for 8 hours, until the apples are soft. Serve with your favorite ice cream!
