Maple Crinkles

With this recipe we used our Grade A Maple Syrup!


INGREDIENTS:

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour

  • 2 tsp. baking soda

  • 1/2 tsp. salt

  • 1 cup shortening

  • 1 cup packed brown sugar

  • 8oz. Bell-View Grade A Maple Syrup

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 3/4 cup granulated white sugar

  • 1 tbsp. ground pumpkin spice seasoning

DIRECTIONS:

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda and salt.

  2. In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to combine the shortening and sugar until smooth. Mix in the syrup, egg and vanilla. Add the dry ingredients and mix well. Cover and refrigerate for a couple of hours until dough firm. 3 hours at minimum.

  3. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.

  4. In a small bowl, combine the sugar and cinnamon. Shape the cookie dough into balls about an inch.  Roll in the sugar/cinnamon mixture.

  5. Place the cookie dough balls on the prepared baking sheets about 2 inches apart and bake for 14-16 minutes.
