cherry amaretto almond tart
Bell-View’s Taste the Fruit 1st Cherry Amaretto Preserves is perfect for your morning toast but did you know that it could also be used as a delicious tart? We’ve taken and adapted this recipe to make a delicious dessert that’s dangerous to keep around your house for too long! It’s sure to satisfy your sugar cravings!
INGREDIENTS:
3/4 cup unsalted butter, at room temp
2 tbsp. brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 cup Bell-View’s Taste the Fruit 1stCherry Amaretto Preserves
1/4 cup sliced almonds
RECIPE:
Preheat oven to 350ºF/180ºC.
In a mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat butter, brown sugar, and sugar on medium speed for 3-4 minutes until creamy. Beat in vanilla extract. In a small bowl combine flour and salt, then add it to the butter mixture, and beat on low speed until combined. Do not overmix the dough.
Measure out about 3/4 cup of the dough for the topping. Place it briefly in the freezer for 5 minutes. Sprinkle remaining crumbs into the bottom of a 9-inch pan, press firmly to form an even layer with the edges being a little bit higher than the center. Place briefly in the freezer for 5 minutes.
Once dough has set, break it up into tiny pieces. Then spread Cherry Amaretto Preservesover the crust. Sprinkle topping, leaving preserves leaking through.
Sprinkle with the almonds. Bake on a rimmed baking sheet for 35-40 minutes until golden brown.
Refrigerate for 2 hours to let the filling set. Serve at room temperature.
