Preserves pastry bites
Bell-View’s Taste the Fruit 1st Preserves is perfect for your morning toast but did you know that it could also be used for baking? We’ve taken and adapted this recipe to make a decadent dessert that’s dangerous to keep around your house for too long! It’s sure to satisfy your sugar cravings!
INGREDIENTS:
2 sheets puff pastry, thawed but still cold
4oz cream cheese
1/3 cup Bell-View’s Taste the Fruit First Preserves
1 large egg, beaten
splash of milk
coarse sea salt
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 350.
Cut out pastry dough into whatever shapes you’d like. For our purposes, we are cutting the dough into squares. Make sure you have an even number.
Beat eggs and milk together.
Take one square and cover with egg wash. Then add a tsp. of preserves and a tsp. of cream cheese. Then take another square and crimp the edges of the pastry. Cover in egg-wash.
Repeat for all pastries.
Bake in oven for 16 minutes.
