sweet potato pie
Sweet Potatoes are an understated part of the Thanksgiving feast in my opinion. Try this Sweet Potato Pie this Thanksgiving. We used Bell-View Maple Syrup for tis creation.
INGREDIENTS:
1 1/2 cups canned sweet potatoes
3/4 cup sugar
2 large eggs
4 tbsp. (1/2 stick) butter, softened
1/4 cup evaporated milk
¼ cup brown sugar
1 tsp.vanilla extract
1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
3 tbsp. Bell-View Maple Syrup
Pinch salt
1Pie crust
RECIPE:
Preheat oven to 35o degrees F.
In the bowl with hand mixer, combine the sweet potatoes, sugar, eggs, butter, milk, and vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt. Beat until thoroughly blended and smooth. Pour the mixture into the pie shell and sprinkle with the brown sugar.
Bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, about 75 minutes.
